Looking Glass Amplifier Combo

from $3,600.00

The Blue Ridge Audio Looking Glass Amplifier – inspired by one of the the most mysterious and sought after classic amplifier designs and re-imagined with a unique identity all its own. This versatile powerhouse is crafted to deliver an exceptional playing experience and last a lifetime.

Built to order: Standard build with oak cab starts at $3,600, select your feature set and the price in the cart will reflect added upgrades. Nick will contact you to confirm the details of your build before getting started. All amps are built one at a time by a master of the craft with individually tested quality components rated for long life.

Solid Mechanical Build Quality: We use locally made welded aluminum chassis to achieve the best ground connections for superior tone and low noise. Our chassis feature an anodized black finish with laser engraved control indicators and they look as good as they sound.

Cascaded Preamp Channels: Navigate effortlessly between pristine cleans and singing overdrive with the foot-switchable clean and overdrive channels. Express yourself with the touch-sensitive response of each tonally balanced channel.

Independent Boosts: Take your tone to new heights with two independent boosts, Preamp boost and the Hi Midrange boost, that are easily accessible via footswitch. Whether you crave extra punch or a soaring lead, at your command are 8 different gain configurations when combined together with either channel.

Preamp Voicing Switches: Fine-tune your EQ with precision using the four preamp voicing switches. Shape your sound with four toggles: Bright, Hi Midrange (Footswitch-able Mid boost), Low Midrange, and Deep.

Circuit options:

  • Preamp circuits: The Classic preamp has a crystal clear, punchy clean channel and its overdrive channel breakup has amazing low gain dynamics and a bit more edge at high gain settings due to the wider bandwidth. The Modern preamp option has a more focused and smooth overdrive channel, with slightly more emphasis on overdrive sounds; the Modern’s clean channel is less pristine than the classic.

  • FX loop. The Looking Glass comes standard with a passive FX loop (preamp out, power amp in). The Tube Buffer option may be added for preventing signal loss and overloading of effects inputs. Send and Return level (Master) controls enable level matching and gain recovery.

  • Cosmetics: Cabinets are hand crafted with locally sourced hardwoods, Nick builds and finishes each cabinet. A light oil finish brings out the natural character and beauty of the wood. If you want a blacked-out aesthetic, a traditional iron stain on oak is the best option- wood grain still shows thru a gunmetal black stain. Ash is the “blonde” aesthetic. Walnut boards can be challenging to find in the appropriate width, which may add a delay. The images shown are of a live edge walnut piece where asymmetry was intentionally left in.
